Hardie Park joined forces with local companies Dogtopia Pet Services and Alicia’s Obedience Dog Training School this weekend to deliver a dog themed activity day at Hardie Park. The day was free for visitors and their dogs and all funds raised through have-a-go activities, raffles and local business support on the day were split three ways between chosen charities.

This was Dogtopia’s second event of this kind and was a great success. The park provided the perfect venue, the  weather helped attract a huge doggie audience and a great time was had by all. Thanks to local businesses who supported our fundraising efforts with dog related stalls in the park and Wickford Waggin’ Tails Fly Ball Team, Lodge Lane Loonies Agility and The Border Force Agency for their participation. The event raised funds for 3 charitable causes, Noah’s Big Charity, Essex Retired Police Dogs and ourselves, Friends of Hardie Park.

Although we hold a programme of events throughout the year this was our first canine event. It was a pleasure to host and provided an opportunity for us to showcase our park to residents and Thurrock people who had never visited previously. A positive experience for all and one we hope to repeat in the future. A big thank you to local schools Hassenbrook Academy and St Josephs who allowed parking and access for visitors on the day.
