Hardie Park is a community led family park and open green space. Local residents took ownership after a period of neglect in order to develop and enhance the area for the benefit of the local community. In time, the Friends of Hardie Park charity was established and continues to thrive to this day.

The site has developed enormously and is now run by our Board of Trustees with a passionate team of volunteers, supported by a small team of staff.

Opening 7 days a week the facility provides a cafe, toilets, play facility, skate park, pétanque rink, and a community food project where we see surplus supermarket food collected daily by volunteers in our van and offered to the community on a take what you need, donate if you can basis. 

The cafe is also used as a base for many groups with clubs and activities for all generations.
